using the new OS apis, compiler techniques, etc) but most users don't seem to care or notice since it always looks the same so why would anything have changed or need to change anyway (those getting crashes would disagree until they move onto other players). Sure from a developer view point there's a load of things that aren't right & could / should be changed (i.e. Otherwise the whole thing with Windows is to keep the old stuff running. The addition of the guid is all the big thing in the marketing made about the (horrible) 5.8 beta does in that respect & it's very unlikely anyone would even be looking at the crash reports so that's a moot point. Without it, it gets reported as Win8 since MS changed how things worked after that. The only true thing that makes any Winamp version not Win10 (or Win8.1) compatible is a missing guid in the embedded manifest within the winamp.exe so that for the crash reporter & anything else that queries the OS version within the Winamp process can get the correct value.
